Parts/Kit Overview

The R&D Stage 1 Kit delivers an impressive increase in acceleration and adds up to 8 MPH top speed performance while improving overall handling and stability. The R&D Performer Kit is easy to install and is available at a reasonable retail price! Each part in the Kit can be used individually as a “stand alone” product. The RXT-260 AS/IS with a Stage 1 Kit is sure to be the new recreational “king of the lake”.

  • The R&D R3 ECU Reprogram Service is one of the first performance upgrades that should be done to the new RXT 260 AS/IS. The RXT-260 AS/IS ECU has an internal top speed limit governor that is GPS controlled to only allow 67-68 mph. The GPS speed limit governor controls the throttle plate to modulate and restrict airflow CFM volume into the intake plenum which restricts horsepower. R&D has tested and verified that the throttle plate modulation controls and limits the boost pressure to 6-7 pounds.

    The R&D R3 ECU Reprogram produces some serious horsepower and performance upgrade gains through worked over ignition timing map, re-calibrated fuel maps, and increased rev limiter functions to allow 8250 rpm. Plus, removed GPS speed control which allows maximum boost pressure to be reached. With the increased rev limiter settings and 1-1 throttle ratio allowed, the boost pressure with the stock supercharger will be up to 10 full pounds. The R3’s altered ignition timing and fuel tables safely maximizes horsepower performance output with 91 octane pump gas, allowing the Sea-Doo 260 engine to accelerate much quicker out of the hole and pull harder through the mid range with up to 8 mph speed gain. Generally, there is a 9-10 horsepower gain per pound of boost added. That said, and adding in reworked ignition and fuel tables, a 30-35 horsepower gain can be expected with the R3 ECU Program.

    R&D R3 is a vital and necessary key to unlocking and adding performance to the new Sea-Doo 260 engine platform. Whether you are a recreational enthusiasts or an all out racers who is interested in more performance, the R3 ECU is an absolute “Must Doo” Upgrade.

  • The R&D/Solas 15/23 Pro Pitch Impeller is a custom Pro Pitch Tuned impeller that meets the performance demands of the R&D Performer Kit. The R&D/Solas 15/22 is custom tuned and tested to work exclusively with the R&D R3 ECU Program. R&D stocks a complete line of Pro Pitch Impellers that are guaranteed to out perform out of the box aftermarket impellers. Performance gains include reduced cavitation, increased acceleration and improved top speed.   • The R&D Aquavein Intake Grate kit will keep your Sea-Doo RXT-260’s pump loaded, hooked up, and off the rev limiter to improve handling and top speed performance! Improved straight-line stability and smoother, tighter turning capabilities will be noticed instantly. Also, there is zero speed loss with the R&D Aquavein Grate. In fact, speed improvements of 2.5 -3.5 have been documented by R&D customers in both flat and rough water conditions.

  • The R&D RXT-260 Adjustable Pump Cone Kit is a creative bolt on “tune-able” part that adds extended length over the O.E.M. plastic pump cones length, which will reduce cavitation while adding additional pump thrust and top speed performance. The R&D Pump Cone Kit allows precision cone length tuning which will allow engine rpm and pump thrust loads to be adjusted quickly and easily. The R&D Pump Cone Kit will work much better over a tool box full of different sized nozzle rings that are just old school and out dated. Adding a few “Kit Included” Shims will allow the addition or subtraction of cone length which will do a more precision job of adjusting RPM’s while prop tuning. Precision CNC machined, and o-ring sealed for leak free pump bearing protection. R&D Race team riders have been using these cone kits for 2 years in Pro Race Competition.

  • The R&D RXT-260 AS/IS Pro Series Sponson Kit will increase top speed stability in rough water conditions, as well as add increased and improved turning performance. The R&D Sponson Kit offers 2-position sponson blade adjustability, which will guarantee this kit to out perform any other 1 up, 2 up, or 3 up! The R&D Pro Series Sponson Kit offers a smoother more predictable ride with much better low and high speed turning capabilities. Track tested and race proven!

NOTE: R&D recommends the installation of an R&D RXP-X Surge Protection Kit offered, which will substantially reduce wear and tear on the O.E.M. supercharger clutch assembly. Automobiles with Turbo Chargers or Supercharges generally always include surge protection valves to protect the supercharger from harm full compressor surge. The R&D RXP-X Surge Protection Kit offered is Part # 613-95258.

NOTE: The R&D RXP-X 260 4Tec supercharged Stage 1 kit development, tachometer, and top speed information posted was gathered after an initial 5-mile warm-up to stabilize engine temperatures. All testing was performed exclusively with Chevron 91 octane pump gasoline at 500 feet above sea level. Ambient air temperature during testing in March was between 75 and 85 degrees. These test results may change as we continue to gather data, and monitor O.E.M. stock boat speed averages, and production impeller consistencies. The information posted in the R&D Performer Kit are averages. In many cases we hear of feedback from Sea-Doo owners with performer kit packages reporting of higher speeds than posted.
