Parts/Kit Overview

The R&D RXP-X 260 Stage 4 Kit delivers an impressive increase in acceleration and easily adds up to 12 Plus MPH top speed performance while improving overall handling, pump hook up, and straight line stability all with reasonably easy to install, bolt on parts. The R&D Stage 4 Kit maintains the great reliability by keeping RPM’s reasonably low and High Grade pump gas friendly. The R&D Stage 4 Kit is easy to install and is available at a reasonable retail price. Most parts in the Kit can be used individually as a “stand alone” product.

  • R&D now offers the new C15X Monster Wheel Kit. The new Billet C15X Monster Compressor Wheel has been specifically developed to pump more boost and CFM while utilizing the O.E.M. compressor housings, stock fuel injectors, stock in tank fuel pump, and still run on 91 octane pump gasoline. The R&D Wheel Kit will pump out a solid 15 pounds of boost which when compared is up 5 full pounds of boost over stock which will easily add on an additional 30-40 H.P. R&D has increased the exducer blade dimensions and deck area to pump as much air as possible and still be able to have a properly tuned Lambda or AFR, again, using stock fuel injectors and stock fuel pump. The R&D Monster Wheels are precision 5 Axis CNC Machined for maximum strength while maintaining lighter than stock weight ratios (30 grams lighter than stock).The R&D C15X series compressor wheels will install directly into any 2009-2013 255/260 supercharger as a “Bolt On” parts kit using basic hand tools.
    The C15X wheel kit will require a R&D R4 Series Reprogrammed ECU, and the use of an R&D Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator Kit. The R&D R4 ECU programs will offer a choice in rev limiter settings, and has the properly calibrated fuel maps that work seamlessly with the R&D Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator System.   • The R&D R4 ECU Reprogram series was specifically developed to be used exclusively with the C15X Monster Wheel Kit with 15 pounds of boost. The R4 series ECU’s produce some great performance gains through its advanced ignition timing, re-calibrated fuel map, increased rev limiter functions, removed GPS speed control, eliminated acceleration governor (starts in sport mode), and eliminated boost limiter to allow maximum boost pressure to be reached. With the removal of the GPS control, and recalibrated rev limiter spec, boost pressure is allowed to be pumped up to 15 plus pounds using the C15X. The R4-PG (PUMP GAS) ECU’s ignition timing safely maximizes performance with 91 octane pump gas use, allowing the Sea-Doo 260 engine to accelerate much quicker out of the hole and pull harder through the mid range with significant speed gain. For the Race enthusiasts, R&D also offers the R4-RG (RACE GAS) ECU which has a slightly more aggressive ignition timing map that will produce more horsepower, however, will be a “RACE FUEL” only ECU Reprogram Specification.

  • The R&D Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator will work effectively to raise the fuel pressure 1 additional pound for every pound of boost added over atmosphere. The base fuel pressure can be set to 60 pounds at idle and the peak fuel pressure will rise to 75 pounds with 15 pounds of boost. The addition of a rising rate fuel pressure system on boosted engines is a must when using the O.E.M. fuel injectors. The R&D Rising Rate System will work perfect with the R4 ECU’s fuel table to deliver safe, accurate, and stable Lambda or AFR numbers in the 12.0-12.5 range.
    The R&D Sea-Doo Multi-Pressure Port Adaptor Kit will allow quick and easy “BOLT ON” installations of Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulators, Tial/Greddy type surge valves, as well as digital or manual boost/vacuum gauges. The R&D Multi-Pressure Port Adaptor installs smartly between the OEM Map Sensor and the Sea-Doo intake manifold as a “bolt on” part with no drilling modifications. The R&D adapter has two large volume ports that allow for proper installation and operation of a vacuum/boost gauge, surge protection valve, and boost referenced fuel pressure regulator (RRFRP) all at the same time.

  • The R&D Pro Series “Big Flow” Intercooler Kit was developed for the 2010-2013 Sea-Doo’s which have a small and more restrictive core which the factory has downsized from older previous model Sea-Doo intercoolers known to actually be quite good. The new R&D Pro Series Intercoolers huge oversized core will allow nearly double the amount of CFM airflow to flow unrestricted over a made in the USA intercooler core that is 35 percent wider than the stock restrictive core. The R&D inlet and outlet ports have also been reshaped and improved to be better than any other intercooler previously made for the Sea-Doo. This will allow improved airflow and increased boost pressures. Don’t be fooled by cheap intercooler cores that have big claims! “Hot Air” is not what your engine needs to make big power without detonation. The R&D Intercooler offers Big Flow and most importantly, delivers COLD AIR!

  • The R&D RXP-X 260 Aquavein Intake Grate kit will keep your Sea-Doo RXP-X’s pump loaded, hooked up, and off the rev limiter to improve handling and top speed performance. Improved straight-line stability and smoother, tighter turning capabilities will be noticed instantly. Top speed improvements of 2.5 -3.5 have been documented by R&D customers in both flat and rough water conditions. The R&D RXP-X Intake Grate’s Race Technology Inspired Wing concept will efficiently load the impellor/pump at all speed ranges to promote maximum acceleration performance.

  • The R&D RXP-X Pro Series Sponson Kit will increase top speed stability in rough water conditions, as well as add increased and improved turning performance. The Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 sponson has a unique stock feature that is tabbed as a “decelerator fin”. The decelerator fin does a good job of keeping the RXP-X stable at cruising speeds with a stock engine package. However, who needs a decelerator fin when you want to accelerate? The Pros at R&D have incorporated into the R&D Sponson lots of race inspired technology to keep the RXP-X 260 ultra stable at top speed, corner sharp and smooth, and actually increase acceleration from zero to 30 mph by leaving the “decelerator fin” out of the design. R&D has done all this without loosing any of the cool inside lean handling performance the RXP-X 260 is admired for. The R&D Sponson Kit offers 2-position sponson blade adjustability, which will guarantee this kit to out perform any other 1, 2, or 3 up. The R&D Pro Series Sponson Kit offers a smoother more predictable ride with much better low and high speed turning capabilities. Track tested and race proven!   • The R&D RXP-X 260 Ride Plate Trim Pads will increase overall and straight line handling stability, as well as add to top speed performance. The R&D Trim Pad Kit is a must for rough water conditions to significantly reduce porpoise and bow hunt. Racing Offshore? The R&D Trim Pads are a must to help keep the hull flat and the pump hooked up to keep the engine off the rev limiter. Straight line top speed averages are increased in rough water, and there is ZERO speed loss in perfect flat water conditions. The secret? The stock trim pads have a cant or downward hook built into them which in general robs speed. The R&D Trim Pads are lengthened over stock and are flat which will allow more top speed!

  • The R&D RXP-X Pro Series 4” Air Filter Kit was designed and developed exclusively for the new Sea-Doo RXP-X. The R&D 4” filter kit will unleash restricted low-end, mid-range and peak horsepower by entirely removing the OEM air filtration system and replacing it. The R&D Kit includes a huge 4” “ snap on” rubber velocity stack that allows large 4” Kanaflex flexible hose to be attached to the supercharger and cleanly run to the front of the hull to capture cooler air. The R&D Pro Series 4” Filter Kit has ZERO restriction to the supercharger which means quicker acceleration and more power.

  • The R&D High Flow “Straight Shot” Intake kit is designed to offer straight and direct flow of the intake air from the intercooler into the throttle body without turns or restriction. The direct air flow increases air speed to the throttle body and intake plenum promoting improved throttle response and acceleration performance throughout the entire RPM range. Note: R&D Free Flow Exhaust kit (Pt. #333-80258) is required to install Straight Shot Intake Hose Kit.

  • The R&D Cool Air Vent Plate Kit was developed to allow super heated hot air that builds up in the back of the hull from the water box, exhaust hoses, supercharger, and coolant reservoir to be quickly and easily vented out of the hull. The R&D Kit allows two large 3” holes to be drilled into the plastic seat base mount. The R&D Kit supplies two Vent Plates that pop rivet securely in place that allows hot air to escape out while muffling sound. A cooler engine room with improved air ventilation will add to engine horsepower output.

  • The R&D/Solas 14/23 Pro Pitch Impeller is a custom Pro Pitch Tuned impeller that meets the performance demands of the R&D Stage 4 Kit. The R&D/Solas 14/23 is custom tuned and tested to work exclusively with the R4 ECU Programs. R&D stocks a complete line of Pro Pitch Impellers that will out perform “out of the box” aftermarket impellers. Performance gains include reduced cavitation, increased acceleration and improved top speed. Call R&D for other custom impellor pitch options that will work with your choice of ECU rev limit settings, or riding environment and conditions. NOTE: R&D Recommends the 14/22 impellor for 90-110 degree weather conditions, and the 14/23 impellor for 60-85 degree weather conditions.

  • The R&D RXP 260X Billet Adjustable Pump Cone Kit is a creative new bolt on part that adds 1 full inch of additional length over the OEM cone, and also allows an additional .315” of adjustable tuning range. The extended length allows custom rpm tuning, reduced cavitation and adds additional pump thrust. Precision tuning the pump cones length with the kit included cone spacers will add to top speed while keeping the engine rpm’s stable and out of the rev limiter. Precision CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and o-ring sealed for leak free pump bearing protection. The R&D Billet Cone kit can be ordered in 3 specific cone sets that will allow an adjustment range based on horsepower output, rpm range, and prop pitch. O-ring sealed and anodized to prevent corrosion and allow years of trouble free adjustability. Call R&D for cone kit suggestions or performance recommendations for a base kit that will offer a tuning range for your application. There are many possible tuning combinations never before possible without this unique concept. For example, RPM’s too high, add shims to reduce RPM’s. At any time if needed, additional longer cones can be ordered to allow a wider range of tuning. The R&D Cone Kit will offer more precise prop/rpm/nozzle tuning and higher top speeds over nozzle rings guaranteed.

  • The R&D Thermostat/Intercooler/Engine Cooling Kit is one stop shopping to solve several big issues with the O.E.M. cooling system. Engine temperatures on a RXP 260 engine with performance upgrades can reach 190-195 degrees with the stock cooling system. The R&D Kit changes out the stock thermostat for a new cooler 160 degree thermostat. The R&D Kit also separates and re-routes the “intercooler out” and “engine out” water lines to allow less restriction and more water to flow through both the engines exhaust system and the intercooler which will promote cooler exhaust temperatures as well as reduce intake air temperatures. The R&D Kit also includes two new 1/2 inch water bypass fittings for the intercooler in and out lines, one to be used with the kit included high pressure relief valve, and one for the new intercooler water out line. The R&D “high pressure” relief valve will protect the intercooler from being broken due to high water pressure spikes. Cooler engine temperatures, cooler intake air temperatures, and cooler exhaust temperatures all add up to a noticeable RPM and top speed gain.

  • R&D High Performance Titanium Retainers Kits are a must add kit where engine RPM frequencies are sustained over 8350 on Sea-Doo engines when used in aggressive water conditions where engine over rev situations elevated . The R&D Titanium Retainers are 500 grams lighter than O.E.M. retainers and considerably stronger. R&D Retainers are designed to properly preload the O.E.M. spring slightly to raise seat and full lift spring tension which will increase valve control and help to reduce valve float.

  • R&D Exhaust Free Flow Kit will relieve hot exhaust gas back pressures which will reduce engine heat, reduce detonation, and allow increased engine performance. The R&D Kit replaces the O.E.M. standard exhaust hose and removes the plastic resonator box known to melt down or burn with added horsepower. The R&D Kit offers precision mandrel bent aluminum tubing, high temperature silicone rubber coupling hoses, and high quality hose clamps.

NOTE: R&D recommends the installation of an R&D RXP-X Surge Protection Kit offered, which will substantially reduce wear and tear on the O.E.M. supercharger clutch assembly. Automobiles with Turbo Chargers or Supercharges generally always include surge protection valves to protect the supercharger from harm full compressor surge. The R&D RXP-X Surge Protection Kit offered is Part # 613-95258.

NOTE: The R&D RXP 260-X Stage 4 kit development, tachometer, and top speed information posted was gathered after an initial 5-mile warm-up to stabilize engine temperatures. All testing was performed exclusively with Chevron 91 octane pump gasoline at 500 feet above sea level. Ambient air temperature during testing in March was between 75 and 85 degrees. These test results may change as we continue to gather data, and monitor O.E.M. stock boat speed averages, and production impeller consistencies. The information posted in the R&D Stage 4 Kit are averages. In many cases we hear of feedback from Sea-Doo owners with performer kit packages reporting of higher speeds than posted.
