R&D offers professional ECU Reprogramming services for the TR1 3 CYL Yamaha ECU’s for all models in both RIDE and NON RIDE versions. All TR1 ECU’s which have the New Ride System, Dual Throttle System, Brake System, and Cruise/No-Wake Modes will all retain 100 percent the O.E.M. dash functions and Ride System features! The TR1 ECU packages that do not have the new Ride System will also retain ALL the O.E.M. dash functions and features. NOTE: NON RIDE MODELS will be 6FB-Series ECU’s, and RIDE MODELS will be 6EY-Series.

R&D’s high performance ECU re-program services for the TR1 3 CYL Models will improve overall horsepower and top speed performance, and are all done safely and reliably. R&D’s initial testing and evaluation of the O.E.M. ECU has revealed the stock files to be on the lean side and have sluggish throttle response and soft overall power. The R&D ECU tunes offer a big wake up call in performance. The R&D tunes deliver powerful gains in acceleration and top speed performance while maintaining all the O.E.M. dash functions and features. The R1, R2, and R3 ECU programs allow maximum performance gains to be reached utilizing 91+ octane pump gasoline. Entry level programs allow the enjoyment of a raised RPM limit setting as well as the internal power limiters being raised to allow maximum performance. Ignition timing and fuel tables have been carefully and professionally altered and tuned to safe AFR values for super safe recreational performance. Ignition Timing is more aggressively upgraded (advanced) to produce more aggressive acceleration and top speed performance as much as possible and remain safe for all recreational and offshore use (with suggested valve train upgrades)(R&D Valve Spring Kit). Fuel tables are re-worked and improved for cleaner and sharper throttle response and smoother running with safe AFR’s. R3 works great with the R&D Pro Pitch Impellor. R3 recommended fuel is minimum 91 octane pump gasoline or higher. Depending on Impellor/RPM set up, and additional parts, R&D strongly suggests R&D Super Single valve spring Kit and R&D Carrillo Con Rod kits are used when RPM frequencies are above 8650.


R&D Pro Flow Air Filter Kit

R&D’s new front mount TR1 Air Filter Kit replaces the restrictive O.E.M. “flat filter” with an economical answer to great performance on a budget. R&D has designed the Ultimate Air Filter kit to feed the TR1 3 CYL power plant with a simple “Long Cone Filter” that installs in minutes with a screw driver. The system is designed and tested on R&D’s Super flow Air Flow bench to accurately measure pressure restriction inside the O.E.M. airbox while also using a magnehelic gauge to measure inches of water to document negative restrictions that hinder quick intake manifold and cylinder filling. The R&D System utilizes an oversized and specifically designed high flow R&D Power Plenum Filter that rubber mounts inside the airbox. The O.E.M. airbox design works well to keep water out of the engine, and the R&D Pro Flow Filter works to unlock the restrictions. The washable and reusable design means this will be the last filter you will ever have to buy.

R&D Intake Manifold Ribbon Delete Kit

The R&D Intake Manifold Ribbon Delete Kit was developed to increase airflow volume into the intake system by relieving restrictions. The R&D Intake Manifold Sleeve replaces the OEM intake ribbon producing a 40 CFM increase in air flow. The R&D billet sleeve mounts between the intake manifold and the throttle body creating a superior Venturi effect. The R&D Intake Kit will add low end and mid range throttle response. The R&D Intake sleeve is an absolute must have part to remove intake restrictions. True horsepower gains on the Yamaha start right here with the R&D Intake Sleeve. More airflow will equal more power. R&D Anti-Cavitation Cone

The R&D Anti-Cavitation Pump Cone Kit will reduce overall internal pump cavitation within the Yamaha's offset reduction/compression nozzle design. The O.E.M. reduction/compression nozzle is offset, while the O.E.M. pump cone/bearing cap remains straight which results in uneven pressures within the pump and reduction nozzle. The R&D Anti-Cavitation Pump Cone is offset and reshaped to match the O.E.M. reduction nozzle offset promoting even pressures, which will substantially reduce cavitation, increase pump hook up, boost acceleration, and increase top speed performance. The R&D Pump Cone Kit is a must have part in salt water!

R&D Racing Adjustable Cam Gear Kit

R&D’s Adjustable Racing Cam Gear kit allows a huge boost in overall horsepower to be gained by custom tuning the Camshafts LSA (lobe separation angle) set up. Tuning the Cam’s LSA with R&D Racing Cam Gears will add a significant jolt in low end acceleration power, increased mid range performance, and add more MPH to your existing engine package. Adjusting the camshafts LSA is a very simple “BOLT IN” modification with the R&D Cam Gear Kit. Understanding the LSA concept principle is complex, however, simply explained in R&D’s comprehensive directions. Simply put, A wide LSA will generally result in decreased valve overlap, later intake events, earlier exhaust events, and high intake manifold VACUUM (higher vacuum at idle) which produce great idle, smooth accelerating with mild and smooth low and top end power. Wide LSA’s are great for school buses and soccer mom vans. However, if strong mid range pull and top end horsepower is what you’re looking for, then a narrower LSA will need to be generated or custom tuned. The R&D Racing Cam Gear Kit allows the LSA (lobe separation angle) to be fine tuned (adjusted) narrower which will generate increased valve overlap, earlier intake events, and later exhaust events. Precision tuned LSA packages will add in snappier throttle response, increased mid range and top end power.

R&D High Performance “Super Single” Valve Spring Kit

R&D has developed an economical solution for upgrading the valve train by offering a series of upgrade parts that will work great with the OEM valves and valve seals. R&D has documented that the seat tension or pressure on the stock springs is a 38 pounds, and coil bind on the stock springs occurs .050” after full lift on the stock cams. As an industry rule or standard, as rpm, power, and boost levels are increased to the engine, the valve spring seat pressure should be increased 1-2 pounds per pound of boost. As an industry rule, as RPM'S are increased, the spring pressure at full lift should be increased as well to reduce or eliminate valve float at high rpm frequencies. With the stock springs “short lift travel” shimming is NOT an option. Valve Springs MUST be upgraded.

Also to consider is valve spring travel at full cam lift, and to have enough spring clearance freedom to run high performance camshafts or add additional spring tension pressures without coil bind issues.

Carrillo High Performance Rods

R&D has teamed up with Carrillo to develop the finest watercraft connecting rods for high performance engines. The R&D/Carrillo connecting rods are a precision, high strength, quality product that reflects the optimum balance between lightweight and durability. The Light weight forged design is substantially stronger and lighter than the OEM rod and will deliver the strength needed to perform reliably under high horsepower supercharged and turbo applications in the 10,000 rpm range. R&D Inline Fuel Pressure Gauge Adaptor

The R&D Fuel Pressure Gauge Adaptor Tool is designed to be a plug in fuel pressure gauge that needs no modifications to install and use. Simply disconnect the OEM locking fuel connector from the fuel rail and plug the gauge tool directly into the connector. Plug the locking connector supplied on the R&D tool onto the fuel rail and lock. Use the tool to verify fuel pressure and fuel pump condition. Use the tool to set and verify base fuel pressure settings on the R&D Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator (RRFPR). When finished, disconnect the tool and reconnect the stock fuel line. The adaptor installs inline between the OEM fuel rail and the R&D RRFPR via the OEM connectors for easy connect and disconnect. The R&D Tool works on both Yamaha and Kawasaki fuel systems. Installation time is only 2 minutes. Liquid filled fuel pressure gauge sold separately.

R&D Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator Kit

R&D offers a TR1 3 CYL model specific fuel pressure regulator system allowing custom fuel pressure tuning to the EFI fuel systems fuel pressures. The R&D Fuel Pressure Regulator System offers a wide range of setup possibilities making it the only fuel pressure tuning system you will ever need. Base fuel pressure is adjustable from 5 to 80 PSI. The R&D fuel pressure regulator can also be set up to allow “rising rate” fuel pressure at a 1 to 1 ratio (One pound of fuel pressure gain over base for every pound of boost gain). R&D offers two types of fuel pressure regulator set ups. Part #802-00080 will come completely assembled and ready to install. The R&D Pro System is 100 percent complete, installs directly to the top of the fuel tank, and connects directly to the fuel rail with OEM security lock connectors with no modifications. For the R&D Fuel Pressure Regulator only use part #801-25010, which comes complete with 90 degree barbed brass fittings for use with push on type hose and Oetiker style clamps for security. R&D offers high performance fuel hose that can be purchased by the foot, as well as the Oetiker style clamps. The R&D bypass style regulator system is capable of handling any fuel pump up to 250 GPH. Replace “Deadhead” regulator performance and experience the full flow volume and rock steady fuel pressure that only a dynamic R&D fuel pressure regulator kit can produce.

The new R&D High Performance Fuel Pumps are “ANY FUEL FRIENDLY”. Yes, the new R&D High Performance Fuel Pumps are 100% E-85 compatible. R&D Fuel Pumps kits are set up specifically to fit the Yamaha fuel pump housing and are offered in a variety of flow ratings to facilitate from basic low cost replacement to an all out 500 H.P. race machine. All R&D fuel pumps are precision flow rate tested and charted in (LPH) liters per hour. The new R&D 340 Racing Fuel Pump will outperform traditional old school fuel pumps with its internal turbine design by flowing 25 percent more fuel at 43 pounds of fuel pressure. The R&D Fuel Pumps fit all Yamaha fuel pickup assembly’s from 2000 up/All Models. No modifications necessary to install.

R&D In-Tank Fuel Pressure Regulator Block Off Kit

R&D offers a Fuel Pressure Regulator Block off Kit which will allow the OEM stock in tank fuel pressure regulator to be removed, blocked off, and replaced with a billet part which is mandatory when installing an aftermarket externally adjustable fuel pressure regulator system. The OEM in tank fuel pressure regulator is fixed to maintain 40-43 pounds of fuel pressure at all times. For high performance applications where horsepower is boosted, it is necessary to install larger flowing fuel injectors and be able to tune the fuel pressure up or down as needed. Most factory race teams are running 65 plus pounds of fuel pressure along with higher flowing fuel injectors and externally adjustable pressure regulators. The R&D Fuel Pressure Block-off Fitting is the answer to quickly replace and block off the port. R&D has a complete line up of fuel pumps, fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulators, fuel gauge, and fuel hose accessories all designed specifically for the Yamaha. The R&D Recreational/Offshore Performance Cooling Kit will help to reduce engine block and cylinder head temperatures and keep them under control @ 160-175 degrees. The O.E.M. R&D R&D High Performance Racing Head Gasket

R&D TR1 High Performance Racing Head Gaskets were developed to replace the OEM head gasket with a higher performing Multi Layer Steel Stack Design (MLS), utilizing state of the art materials proven to withstand extreme heat generated from high cylinder pressures in high boost performance packages. Each gasket is deep dual embossed (both sides) and Viton Coated to promote a positive seal. Use the R&D Head Gasket with confidence in standard replacement or repair situations or Pro Race Engines. Our race proven material and design maintains a positive seal in turbo charged applications with up to 16 pounds of boost. Available in STD 82, 82.5, 83mm bore sizes. R&D also offers a “Super Thin” Gasket that will raise the compression level when changing piston ratio is not an option.

NOTE: NO need to re-torque the head bolts after initial installation which is a big plus on DOHC engines where camshafts would otherwise need to be removed. Head torque specifications are included with each gasket

R&D/TTO Tachometer

The R&D/TTO Tach is water resistant and will monitor two and four stroke single and multiple cylinder applications to 10,000 rpm within 10rpm accuracy. Functions including: peak rpm memory, hour meter, rpm recall and constant rpm display.
